In every industry, there is at least ONE BAD SEED:
On July 20th, 2007, Salaheddine Tazi - owner of Acoustimac made the decision to rip off Ready Acoustics LLC. He placed an order for a single Ready Acoustics - "Ready Bags", the World Famous acoustical insulation slip cover and began trying to copy it - exactly.
- Calls to Sal and Acoustimac have gone unanswered. We have encouraged Acoustimac to make their own version of an acoustical slip cover, but they continue to market and sell a knock-off version of Ready Bag instead -
Ready Acoustics LLC conceived, created, R&D' and tested it's now famous Ready Bags - and is soley responsible for it's huge impact on the acoustical treatment market worldwide. Ready Acoustics LLC spent countless man hours, thousands of dollars in researching and creating the PROPRIETARY ACOUSTICAL FABRIC that makes up Ready Bags, and tested this product at Riverbank Acoustical Labs from which stellar acoustical coefficients emerged. Ready Acoustics did all of the aforementioned from 2005-2006 in a painstaking effort to bring a brand new, original acoustical treatment product to the market, and has saved ten of thousands of people much time, and money in offering such a wonderful alternative to costly acoustic treatments.
NOW, Salaheddine Tazi - owner of Acoustimac has taken it upon himself to not only copy this well respected and widely used Ready Acoustics product, but he has made it worse in the process. He is trying to call his version of Ready Bags - "Ez Wraps" and has offered NO improvement on the Original Ready Bags.
Not only has Salaheddine Tazi - owner of Acoustimac ripped off Ready Acoustics invention, he has told unsuspecting victims that HE created this product and it touting HIS fabric (a rip off of the true Ready Acoustics Fabric) as "Acoustimac's fabric" on his website.
How much lower can Acoustimac go than this? Read on........
When you purchase something from Acousticmac, be sure you note:
- you receive no installation accessories free of charge with Sal's knock off of the Original Ready Bags. You have to PAY EXTRA for corner protectors and hanging supplies when you buy Sal's EZ WRAP. This drives the cost up, and you are nickled and dimed until he sees a profit from that sale. Ready Acoustics' Ready Bags come with ALL hanging accessories and polycarbonate, peel and stick corners - FREE OF CHARGE.
- Acoustimac have done NO testing of their products in an acoustical laboratory, and have NO PROOF THAT ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS WORK as Sal states. By contrast, almost ALL other Acoustic Treatment manufacturer's offer at least "some" acoustical coefficients or test results from an acoustics lab, or from their own product testing. See Ready Acoustics, Real Traps, G.I.K, Auralex and others -
- Products made by Acoustimac have NO FIRE RATING, let alone a CLASS A Fire Rating like that of Ready Acoustics or Real Traps. Because Acoustimac have NO fire rating for the products they make, their products are excluded from building installations that require a Fire Rating to meet local or Federal Building codes. In some cases, installation of products without a fire rating can void insurance protection in case of fire.
- Acoustimac staffs NO Acoustics Professionals and the advice you get from them is only derived from information from other reputable acoustic treatment manufacturers.
- Acoustimac sells acoustic panels for interior walls as SOUND PROOFING. This is a LIE as interior mounted acoustic treatment panels are NOT SOUNDPROOFING. "Soundproofing" is a strong buzz word, and Sal has capitalized on this phrase by selling interior mounted acoustic panels as such. This is an absolute SHAME, as interior acoustic panels DO NOT SOUND PROOF a room.
- Sal's business practices are regarded as shoddy, and his local Better Business Bureau has given him an F as a grade for one of his other businesses. Though he may seem like a nice person on the phone; people who know little about acoustics or acoustic treatment may think he knows what he's talking about when recommending products and placement for their rooms, and that's a shame. You need look no further than Sal's website to KNOW that he has little experience at all in helping good folks treat their rooms CORRECTLY. There are no manuals, no tutorials, no 3rd party test data for his products, no acoustical coeeficients for the products they make, and no mention of fire rating, let alone a certificate for such .....and Sal's website features some acoustical information that is flat out wrong.
Acoustimac is:
- a knock off company that has ripped off at least one competitor and is selling a bad version of Ready Acoustics' "Ready Bags" Acoustical slip covers
- Acoustimac is not owned or operated by an acoustics industry professional, and does not employ anyone with long term experience in providing industry accepted acoustical treatment advice
- products made by Acoustimac are NOT fire rated, and therefor DO NOT qualify for many commercial and public building installations that require such as part of their building code
- Acoustimac owner Salaheddine Tazi owns 2 other businesses - "Lighted Scenes" and Altaclean Janitor Service - he also sells his trinkets and acoustic type products on Ebay
We recommend you buy from Acoustimac IF:
- You do not care if the acoustic treatment advice you receive is accurate or not, and if you do NOT care if it is given by an acoustics professional with years of acoustics knowledge or not - You don't mind handing your hard earned money to a company that steals ideas from other companies and that tries to produce exact duplicates of said items and sell them as "their own" - You do not care if a company tries to steal the hard earned reputation of another business by stealing another company's products, and making horrible knock offs of such - You'd like to promote businesses that engage in dirty business practices such as ripping other businesses off, and ruining their ability to survive in a fair and just way
If you'd prefer to promote businesses that work hard, businesses that develop new, innovative and important products, and that have exceptional knowledge of the products they are offering, then consider buying your acoustic treatments another, reputable acoustics company like: Ready Acoustics LLC, G.I.K., Real Traps, Auralex, RPG or another company that does NOT steal it's product ideas from others and tout them as their own as Acoustimac does.

UPDATE 9-1-09
To date, Sal has not returned any of our phone calls - nor has anyone else at Acoustimac. We've tried to communicate directly with Sal regarding this issue, but he is silent on the matter and will not respond. We have encouraged Acoustimac to make their own version of an acoustical slip cover, but so far they have decided to continue with copying Ready Bags, and not making any improvements on it.
This morning (Tuesday, September 1st 2009) Sal had his local police office call our business - perhaps in an effort to try and intimidate us. Once the deputy spoke with Ready Acoustics, she soon heard the truth, and the matter was essentially closed.
However, the matter of Sal ordering Ready Bags, and copying it, then selling it as an Acoustimac product still stands. His decision to do so speaks volumes about his character and the character of his company in our view. We struggle with the decision to make Sal's copying of our product, and all that he has done to convince people it is his own - public and more widely known. People need to know this so they can make an informed decision about whether or not to buy his knock-off of Ready Bags or not.
We'll be updating this webpage regularly - stay tuned.

UPDATE 2-6-2010
NOW SAL AT ACOUSTIMAC IS USING THE READY ACOUSTICS COMPANY NAME IN HIS PAID YAHOO ADVERTISEMENTS. THESE GUY WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO SCREW A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS OUT OF SALES. IT ISN'T ENOUGH THAT THEY TRY TO DUPLICATE OUR PRODUCTS AND OTHER COMPANY'S PRODUCT WITH INFERIOR COMPONENTS AND SALES-DRIVEN RECOMMENDATIONS, NOW THEY'RE SQUATTING ON OUR COMPANY NAME TOO!
YAHOO HAS BEEN CONTACTED REGARDING THIS, AND ARE WORKING TO RESOLVE IT.
